The Carnival Mardi Gras is the second largest cruise ship in Carnival’s Fleet, just beat out by it’s sister ship the Carnival Celebration. The first XL (or Excel) class ship for Carnival, the Mardi Gras is also the first cruise ship in the world to have a roller coaster (Bolt). the ship can carry a maximum number of 6,500 passengers and has 1,745 crew.
