There's definitely many things I wish I knew, but I have narrowed down to the top 5 (plus a bonus) things I wish I knew before I started my career in marketing.

They will be helpful if you're starting out your career in marketing, but I'm quite sure these points can be generalized for a career in any field.

Starting a career in digital marketing doesn’t necessarily require a specific degree. Nevertheless, you will need to study a great deal of information, gain relevant skills and expertise to establish your career.

As a novice in the early days of my career, I had to go through many experiences and I learned by trial and error.
