What are the wiring regulations for using 13A sockets to charge an electric car? The answer may surprise you. Granny cables are supplied with most electric vehicles and are designed to allow charging from any 13A socket. As the name suggests, they are designed for use when visiting Granny, who is unlikely to have a dedicated EV charger installed.
