Can Weimaraners live with cats? Weimaraners have a strong prey drive due to their hunting background. Some Weimaraners may be more prone to chasing small animals like cats, rabbits, and squirrels. It is possible to manage this instinct and train Weims, but it may never be completely eliminated and some dogs may struggle with their high prey drive. It's essential to be patient and committed to the training and socialization process to ensure a harmonious living arrangement between your Weimaraner and your cat. Before bringing a new Weimaraner home, ask your breeder how the puppies have been raised. It's crucial to socialize Weimaraner puppies with cats from a young age. We introduce our puppies and allow supervised interactions during puppyhood to establish positive relationships.
