I'm sure you heard the advice online that shotgun mics are bad for indoor audio because of phasing. This is very true for an untreated room with reflections. Sound phasing from shotgun mics and their interference tube is unpredictable and can ruin a video. Better overall mics for indoor dialogue are small condenser pencil mics. In this video, I'll go over the differences and do a sound test with a treated and untreated room.
