This is the story of an unlikely friendship between a purebred Scottish cat named Ponzu and an exotic sun parakeet.
For the first few years, Ponzu lived like a king with his owner, Shannon, in New York. He had everything a cat could want until his paradise was ruined by a pesky bird.
Shannon found a colorful parakeet on the roof of her apartment. The bird was dehydrated and exhausted and did not look well. The woman named the bird "Mango" because of her brightly colored plumage.
It took several weeks for Mango to recover, but as soon as the bird regained her senses, she began to test Ponzu's patience by sitting next to him, pecking at him, or running her claws through his fur.
But in time, they began to enjoy each other's company. This was the beginning of their unlikely friendship!
