Between Paisley and Bly Oregon is a large swath of forest ranging in elevations between 5500 and 8000 feet. 80 square miles or so. Between Sliver Lake, K Falls and Lakeview is the general zone. This area is well maintained by our tax dollars but sees very little usage (at least if Memorial Day weekend is any indication). Snow level that weekend was about 7000 feet and our mountain biking journey included a few miles pushing our bikes uphill in deep snow, which was um, different. Out of the 20 mile loop about 3 were that gnarly. We camped alongside Sprague Creek as it cut through a large meadow. There are many spots to camp but I recommend you get a good map. Glad I had mine. Our first chance to get "out" in Oregon was worth the wait.
