Hello, fellow campers! Hillsborough River State Park is the topic of this video. We have stayed here three times and in those visits, we have "lived" in five sites: Site 57, Site 5, Site 12, Site 4, Site 98. We camp in a 33 foot Class A motorhome and all of these sites worked for us, although Site 12 was a little challenging! A short video will be coming out on that one soon. Our favorite loop is now Loop 1, we've decided, although all sections are really nice. Even the interior sites provide plenty of space between campsites.

Hillsborough River State Park offers miles of trails for hiking and biking, picnicking and pavilions, shaded RV sites (50 or 30 amp electric and water only), the river for paddling and fishing, Class II rapids, wildlife, a large pool (being refurbished at this time), history, and even glamping tents. It is close to Tampa, although traffic can be heavy at certain times of the day. It's nice to retreat to the peace and quiet of Hillsborough River State Park after a trip to Tampa.

What we love about Hillsborough River State Park:
1. Scenic park, Spanish moss, oaks and pines, palmettos and cabbage palms, cypress stands...Florida
2. Hillsborough River
3. Trails for biking and hiking, plus the scenic loop road
4. The majority of campsites are spacious, only a handful are a little smaller, but still adequate.
5. Quiet and peaceful
6. Close to Tampa

What we didn't love about Hillsborough River State Park:
1. Loss of six campsites for tent and RV camping: We wish they had added another section for the glamping tents rather than taking away six campsites. We all know how Florida State Parks fill up. Perhaps that was explored, but not possible. It is nice for anyone to have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, even if they don't have any equipment.
2. A Verizon issue, not a park issue: Verizon didn't work well here even though speed tests show it should. We always had service, however it was very inconsistent with speeds. What's up, Verizon? We are noticing this a lot here lately.

On to our next stop! Happy travels!
