Residents and rental guests found a very small printed notice to evacuate the Calypso Tower 3 in Panama City Beach Florida

Here is what the note said:

Dear Tower III Residents,
I hope this message finds you well under these challenging circumstances. It is with a sense of urgency and deep concern for your safety that I must convey a critical update regarding Tower Ill at Calypso Resort.
ORDER TO VACATE PROPERTY
On Thursday night, February 8, 2024, the city received a concerning report from Slider Engineering Group, Inc., following a structural inspection of all guardrails in Calypso Tower Ill. The findings reveal significant structural integrity issues, particutarly with the guardrails on the east side of the building (facing the garage). The report categorically states that these conditions pose an immediate danger to the health and safety of all occupants.
Considering these findings and in accordance with Sec. 1517(4) of the City's Code of Ordinances, we are faced with an unavoidable decision. The Panama City Beach Building Department issued an evacuation order for all Tower Ill residents and guests for the affected floors to vacate the premises later than Sunday morning, 08:00 am, February 11", 2024. This decision, though difficult, is made with your safety as our utmost priority. Currently the 21" floor is the only floor that does not require evacuation.

We understand the disruption and inconvenience this evacuation may cause. Please be assured that our team is fully committed to supporting you through this process. We are coordinating with local authorities and services to assist in this transition and will provide updates as they become available.
Please notify your guests, please note that the city will be posting signage on all affected floors.
The 48 hours is provided to ensure all owners and guests vacate in a controlled and safe manner.
Our neighbor and friend to Tower Ill, Embassy Suites PCB, has offered greatly discounted room rates per the included communication.

Rest assured, we are taking immediate steps to address these structural concerns. A licensed structural engineer as well as numerous resources are engaged with PCB government resources to render the property safe for occupancy as swiftly as possible. We are dedicated to resolving this situation and will keep you informed of our progress.

The News reported this. Some didn’t see the note because they were out enjoying the beach, the city. But some heard about the evacuation from the local news.
