“You can’t cycle in winter!” Or can you? If yes or if no, why? How do the northern cities of Calgary and Oulu compare when it comes to cycling? What about in winter? In this collab video with Shifter, we chose a similar’ish ride & destination through the city center to a big box store on the outskirts of the city and compare the bicycle friendliness of the different city surroundings, infrastructure and maintenance during rides with the Plus 1 Minus 2 method. In winter, of course.
Oh and btw. Of course there are plenty of other hardware stores MUCH closer in Oulu, probably in Calgary as well, so you don’t REALLY need to cycle 10 km to reach one, but since we agreed upon a 10kilometer ride, that’s what we’ll be doing
