CSULB’s Parkside North Residence Hall is the first new oncampus housing building that the University has built in nearly 40 years. A visible social hub for students, the building provides common spaces, including a kitchen and dining area, study pods, laundry room, an outdoor gathering space and rooftop terrace.
The building was designed with the highest sustainability standards in alignment with CSU’s goals. It is the CSU system’s first residential building designed for netzero energy. The solar canopy built above the roof terrace contributes to its onsite renewable energy in addition to the adjacent carport PV. It is also designed for LEED Platinum and Living Building Challenge Petal certification.
