Cabinet Backing | Cabinet Hanging Hack

Follow
Berlin Builds

This is to help contractors/home remodelers/basement finishers/and diyers have an easier time installing cabinets. A little bit of prep work in doing the backing before you hang sheetrock will make your life so much easier! Otherwise you have to use a stud finder to get your screws into something solid.

The ceilings in this room are 9' tall, so I put the backing for the lower cabinets at 39" high and down, and the backing for the uppers at 54" up and 96" down. Usually for a fridge area you can do backing right at 76" down. The wider the material the better, but at a minimum I would recommend using 2x8's like I did in this video.

If you are interested in the framing nailer I used I did a review video for it that you can find on my channel.

Thanks for watching!
