C64 Game: Chip (1988 Markt u0026 Technik/64'er)

"The game “Chip” consists of sixteen different screens (game levels), with each screen representing a different circuit board on your computer. In the center of each circuit board is a microchip, from whose ten pins you start your rescue operation; It is controlled with a joystick on port 2.

At the soldering points, i.e. at the ends of the conductor tracks starting from the chip, you will see a whitehot killer virus flash from time to time when the game starts, which can disappear as quickly as it came. Use your joystick to direct the pulsating energy point on the microchip to the pin where the virus is flashing at the end of the conductor track. By pressing the fire button, a current pulse is triggered that destroys the virus. But a new virus is already popping up so let's go!

You only have a limited amount of energy available for rescue operations, which is indicated by a bar on the right side of the screen. Every time a virus appears or you trigger a defense impulse, you lose a little of this energy reserve. If you have managed to free a circuit board from the viruses, you will go to the next level (by pressing the fire button). A new chip with new conductor tracks and recharged energy is waiting for you there. Of course there are also a lot of new viruses.

The goal of the game is to destroy all viruses on the sixteen circuit boards.

If your energy is used up before you catch the last virus, you have lost the fight. The chip is then destroyed by the killer viruses.

Of course, you can also collect performance points in this game: For every virus destroyed you get 100 points, for every circuit board that was completely cleaned you get an additional 1000 points, and for the energy not used you get ten times as much Points are paid as a bonus. The last high score achieved is displayed in the current game.

Finally, we would like to point out that the viruses from the game “Chip” have nothing to do with those that destroy software. Our viruses are really completely harmless.

Good luck hunting the viruses!"
