This is a sixpart series with a video for each day of our first trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota, USA. We are Kevin and Sharon Page, from the Madison WI area. We also brought our two dogs, Papillon Dash (age 12.5) and JRTmix Copper (age 7).

Day 4 of the trip begins with us leaving our island in 52F and drizzle. We paddled 7 miles in 16 mph winds and did three portages to arrive at Lake Two, midway back to our entry point. We nabbed a spectacular campsite on a peninsula between two bays, and looking out onto several islands. Though only 7 miles from our first "dry, sandy desert island" campsite, the climate here was 100% rainforest. Moss/fungus/lichen on every tree and all over the ground. It drizzled a lot of the day and the high was only 60F compared to 95F from just two days before this.
