The Bullmastiff is known for its low energy and laid back personality. However, when they are young their energy can be high at times and they do all of the normal puppy things. This seems to catch some people off guard who wanted the lazy/laid back dog right away. But that's not how it works with most puppies. Once they mature they will turn into that laid back dog that you wanted.

The origins of the Bullmastiff go back to the 18th century, in some areas of England, the Old English Mastiff and English Bulldog were commonly bred to produce dogs for work guarding people and their property. By the beginning of the 20th century this breed was in widespread use as an aid to gamekeepers in the control of poaching.They were bred by gamekeepers for strength, size and speed using a cross of the tough, heavy and aggressive Bulldog of the 19th century with the large, strong, less aggressive Mastiff. As a result, the Bullmastiff is known as the gamekeeper's night dog.

The Bullmastiff was recognized as a breed by The Kennel Club in 1934.

This channel was created to track the life of our Bullmastiff Tua.

Videos will be posted to show not only his physical growth, but his behavioral changes, obedience level changes, and our overall experience with the Bullmastiff breed.

This will hopefully help anyone interested in the Bullmastiff breed by showing what to expect at very specific times all throughout a Bullmastiff's life!

Although this will be more specifically about the Bullmastiff breed, the videos should give a very general idea about what to expect at certain ages of many different dog breeds.
