There's benefits & drawbacks to both options including price, warranties, customizations, timing, neighbors, and much more! When you build a new home, you can almost always customize it to be exactly what you want it to be but on the flip side, you will pay more for this benefit! You'll likely get a full warranty with a brand new home, but you'll likely need to wait months (or longer) to actually close on it and move in.
