In this episode, we start installing our sink faucet, water filtration and plumbing systems. After testing it out, we realized our ceramic filter was broken, so we had to wait another week to have clean, running water. In the meantime, we get to work building shelves in our kitchen, both under the counter and above the counter on the wall. Next, we install some gutters on the eaves of the cabin. This is the first step of our future rainwater collection system. We returned with a new ceramic filter and were thrilled to find out everything worked perfectly this time. We officially have clean, running water! One last task we do in this episode is to install some curtains to cover the shelves under the counter. We opted for curtains instead of bulky wood doors because they add color to the cabin, are easier to open and close, take up less space, and ended up being cheaper to make. We made these curtains ourselves by sewing fabric to shape, then snapping in grommets. We are super happy with the final result and are quite impressed with ourselves since we've never sewed anything before.

Welcome to our channel! This Log Cabin Project is a dream that we have had for several years that we finally decided to make a reality. Our goal is to build a tiny log cabin from scratch using as much material from our land as possible. We are building it entirely using hand tools (no chainsaw!). This cabin will function fully offgrid and will be only accessible by foot. Subscribe to follow our journey!
We are learning a lot as we are doing (as always), so don't hesitate if you have any questions, it will be a pleasure to share tips and tricks, if possible.
