Brutal 1.5 mile wet mine adit trip to access several sets of old Cornish mine workings and shafts.

This trip is particularly hard going. Access is via a locked and very well hidden manhole and then comprises of a long walk up a low and very wet adit full of cold flowing water. Eventually it leads into Wheal Tehidy, Wheal Fortune, Barncose and ends up right up at the base of Carn Brea.
Some interesting features along the way including several backfilled shafts which are no longer visible on the surface.

I would not recommend anyone else do this trip. If you do find the access and have the contacts to borrow the key , remember to tell someone exactly where you are going, how long you will be, etc.
If you fell down one of those flooded shafts the chances are you will die of exposure before anyone will come to rescue you. Infact, i dont know if anyone would even come at all... (don't ring me, i could barely drag myself back out)

This is a long hard trip and my legs and back ached for 2 days after.

Hope you enjoyed the trip and perhaps learnt a bit more whats still under your feet here in Cornwall.

Don't forget to subscribe for future mine trips.
