British Shorthair cats are a traditional English breed and the pride of Great Britain. Lewis Carroll in his book "Alice in Wonderland" described in the image of the wellknown Cheshire cat is the British Shorthair breed. However, the history of the appearance in Britain of this breed is still not exactly known. According to one version, these cats came to England more than 2000 years ago with Roman legionnaires, according to another version, they arrived in the role of ship cats on the ships of France.
