This kind of hairstyle was worn in many villages throughout Hungary in the 19th up until the mid20th century, when some of the photos I present were taken. It keeps all of your hair up and out of the way when work needs to be done. Because of this, many girls wore this (and other similar styles) on an everyday basis.
