Box Canyon is on the perimeter of town so it's nice and close!

High Bridge
The High Bridge Trail takes you up 200 feet in a halfmile round trip hike. Along the trail are beautiful views of the town and the high peaks of the Amphitheater Cirque. Hang onto your hat, too! WInds are CRAZY strong!

This is a fantastic quote from High Bridge Trail (Box Canyon Park, CO) Live and Let Hike webpage:
"The bridge spans a deep and narrow gorge composed mostly of ancient, white quartzite and black slate (550+ million years old). A wayside at the bridge extends the stratigraphic column to include “newer” layers of limestone, sandstone, and shale (300400 million years old), which are visible along the canyon’s right flank. Directly below your feet, of course, Canyon Creek tumbles through the deepcut gorge, forming Box Canyon Falls. While barely visible, the presence of the falls is unmistakable by the thundering noise of the crashing waters.
Just beyond the bridge lies a remnant of human history: a dark and damp tunnel that was built for a water pipeline project in the early 1900s before it was abandoned in the 1950s." https://liveandlethike.com/2016/10/22...

Waterfall

Enjoy an easy 500 foot walk into the thundering waterfalls! With access to the high bridge, perimeter trail, and nature center. The Box Cañon Falls is a must see in Ouray, Colorado!

Box Cañon Falls is the culmination of Canyon Creek before it joins the Uncompahgre River near Ouray. The water plummets through a very narrow quartzite gorge with power and force!

Ouray Brewery

Our lunch was terrific & I actually drank the entire glass of beer! I normally don't like beer! I got that burger of the month called the Jalapeno Popper, which was yummy, & Mark got a bacon burger.
