The Bluebell Railway's annual Giants of Steam event for 2023 welcomed two Bulleid Light Pacifics to the line, representing both rebuilt and unrebuilt forms of the class, running alongside members of the Bluebell's home fleet.

From the Swanage Railway was unrebuilt pacific 34070 'Manston', showcasing a weathered appearance, whilst from the Severn Valley Railway, was rebuilt pacific 21C127 'Taw Valley', carrying her fictional Southern Wartime Black livery. This event saw 'Taw Valley's final visit away from her resident line of the SVR prior to overhaul, with the loco set to be withdrawn in early 2024.

Another longterm visitor to the line was BR built Modified Hall Class 6989 'Wightwick Hall', currently on longterm loan to the railway from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. On the Saturday of the event, the guests were joined by resident BR Standard 5MT 73082 'Camelot' and LBSCR A1X Terrier No.72 'Fenchurch', the latter providing brake van rides at Horsted Keynes Station throughout the day.
