Blue Ox Tow Bar System 5 Year Product Review | RV Texas

RV America Yall

We have had several folks ask us about the type of tow bar system we use to pull our Jeep with behind our motorhome. There are a lot of options on the market for towing and selecting the right system can be overwhelming. We thought we would share our experience with our Blue Ox tow bar system. This is not a paid endorsement. We have no connection with Blue Ox. But we have owned our Blue Ox towing system since 2013. This video is based on our experience with the system over 5 years. For more information about our experience with our Blue Ox system, please visit https://rvtexasyall.com/rvtips/produ....

Needed for the Blue Ox Tow System:
A Blue Ox Tow Bar (There are several to pick from based on what you will be towing. They come with safety cables.): https://amzn.to/2JhTlQk
A Blue Ox Coiled Electric Cable (this is what we just replaced on ours): https://amzn.to/2LEnGHc
You'll also need to have a Blue Ox base plate installed on the vehicle that you want to tow. Select the base plate that fits your specific tow vehicle.

Other Blue Ox Items to Consider:
Receiver Locks to lock your Blue Ox in place: https://amzn.to/2Jflg3j
Drop Receiver for folks who's RVs sit up higher (like some gas Class As). These come in different heights: https://amzn.to/2kxzSgw
Blue Ox Tow Bar Cover to protect your tow bar from the elements when you are not using it: https://amzn.to/2xoWvgJ

Seems like a lot to get started, we know. But our investment 5 years ago has given us years of troublefree and worryfree towing. We feel safe on the road and have never had a problem. And we expect to have our Blue Ox with us for many years to come.

We (Tom & Stacie) are Native Texans who are all about exploring the Lone Star State in our weekend home on wheels. We're always looking for fun and interesting places to visit. We'd love to hear your suggestions on fun and interesting places to visit. Please leave a comment below!
