The Blue Heeler, also called Australian Cattle Dog, and German Shepherd are both awesome dog breeds that were bred to do similar jobs even though they have quite a different appearance, which also includes size and weight.

The German Shepherd measures in height up to 26 inches which is 66 centimeters and weigh up to 90 pounds, which is 41 kilograms. They are double coated dogs with each layer of medium length.
The Blue Heeler appears to be a compact dog giving observers the impression that they are agile and strong. They have a compact size measuring up to 20 inches which is 51 centimeters and usually weigh up to 50 pounds which is 23 kilograms.

The German Shepherd have an average life expectancy of 710 years while the Blue Heeler lives longer with a life expectancy of between 1216 years.

To get a Blue Heeler puppy, is between the ranges of $500$600. To buy the ranch bred puppy, it will cost over $1,000 while the AKC registered breed will only cost between the range of $300 to $800. To buy a German Shepherd puppy which is almost 8 weeks or 8 weeks old, it will cost as much as between the range of $1200 or $1500, to train and show it, it will cost $3,500 per year, the feeding is at $100 per litter and the vets bill is at $750.
