Explaining the Basic Difference Between Blanking, Piercing and Punching Process with the Help of this Animation

Sheet Metal Forming/Shearing Process:

Blanking it is one of the Sheet Metal Shearing Process in which a set of punch and die is used to cut a blank (useful part) from a sheet metal stock.

Piercing it is a sheet metal shearing process in Which a set of punch and die is used to create a hole in sheet metal stock, the cut out material is known as scrap.

Punching it is similar to piercing operation, the only difference is that here multiple shape holes are created in the sheet metal stock.
