===========================================================

If you like the pointed pattern of the Siamese but not the yowly voice, a Birman might be the cat for you.

A Birman cat is semilonghaired with darker colouring to the points, face, legs, ears and tail, and a pale toning body colour. It is a largish cat with a thickset body and short legs. The Birman cat has blue eyes and four pure white feet. The front gloves covering only the feet, but the rear socks are longer.

He is a docile, quiet cat who loves people and will follow them from room to room. Expect the Birman to want to be involved in what you’re doing, and be grateful that he’s not as bossy as the Siamese.

Docile doesn’t mean dumb. The Birman is a smart cat and, of course, curious. He likes to explore his environment and has been known to get trapped underneath floors that are being replaced or to accidentally, maybe on purpose, go for a ride on top of a car. It’s a good idea to always keep tabs on where he is.

He communicates in a soft voice, mainly to remind you that perhaps it’s time for dinner or maybe for a nice cuddle on the sofa. He enjoys being held and will relax in his arms like a furry baby.

If you're planning to have these affectionate cats, you can get one of them on these reputable Birman cat breeders.

1. Birmillion Birmans.

Birmillion Birmans are Registered with the Feline Control Council of Western Australia, they are a small family breeder of the beautiful Birman cat. Their kittens are lovingly homereared in order to make them peopleoriented pets in addition to beautiful cats. They only have a few litters each year. Their human family consists of Margaret and Jeremy and they share their lives with their cats.

Based in Perth's northern suburbs in Western Australia we are specialising in red and cream points but also breed chocolate, seal and lilac point birmans. All of our kittens have grand champions as sires.

2. Lachmere Birman Cats.

Richard and Angie Walker are the owners of Lachmere Birman Cats, and although they have been human slaves to Birmans for 32 years, they have only been breeding for the past 25 years. They live in Stafford, Midlands sharing their home with their three beautiful Birmans. Angie is also the UK coordinator and a Trustee of the Birman Welfare and Rescue.

They are not big breeders and breed very much for their love of the kittens. They only have one litter a year and all of their kittens are registered with the GCCF. They have one Birman breeding queen.

Their kittens are born and raised in their home as part of their family. They are very well socialised and used to normal day to day living. Of course, they are never short of love and cuddles and will expect this when they go to their new homes.

Finding the right homes for their kittens is of prime importance to them. They do everything in their power to ensure they go to permanent, loving, safe homes. They are always there to offer help and advice to the new owners and encourage them to stay in touch.

Remember, even if a deposit is paid on one of their kittens, the sale is not confirmed, if at any time they decide that the kitten is no longer available or that the home is not suitable your deposit will be returned in full.

3. Whitesox Birman Cattery.

Whitesox Cattery is one cattery in two locations, Florida and Ohio. They actively raise and show their Birmans in both areas. Their cattery is registered in, The Cats Fanciers Association, CFA and in the American Cat Fanciers Association, ACFA.

They are members of the Birman Breed Council within CFA and members of the National Birman Fanciers, NBF, of which Karen is a past Southern Region Director, an organization dedicated to the maintenance and wellbeing of the Birman breed. They are charter members of the National Alliance of Birman Breeders.

They are members of the Cat Club of the Palm Beaches and Queen City Cat Club. All of these clubs produce cat shows to raise funds for Feline charities. They are committed to breeding healthy and wellsocialized Birman kittens for winning in the show hall and for winning your hearts as loving pets.
