The impacts of moisture in a home are obviously deep for physics and microbiology but this chemistry side is a lot less obvious. It took the researchers of the 10year Chemistry of Indoor Environments (CIE) project by surprise too. Turns out, among the many conclusions and next questions we can draw from this, that our HVAC system and ductwork may be centrally important to controlling the chemistry of the indoors.
