Welcome to our inaugural "Side by Side" episode, where we visit restaurants located in the same vicinity that serve the same food items. We’ll do a side by side comparison and let you know which one reigns supreme.

Our first episode features SMASH BURGERS! 2021 ushered in a new wave of smash burgers across NYC. The traditional burger making technique was to throw it on the heat and leave it alone, for fear of losing the precious “juice” from the burger. Smash burgers involve applying pressure to maximize the surface area of meat hitting the sizzling hot grill. This searing results in a maillard reaction that produces flavorful and crispy caramelized bits on the burger.

Today we’re in the LES to check out two top smash burger contenders 7th Street Burger and Smashed. Which place had the best burger? Come along for this food adventure!
