Berkeley's Polypore, as its name suggests, is a mushroom in the polypore family, which has pores instead of the gills under the cap. It often grows on the stump of the oak tree in summer and early fall. In this video, I present distinctive features of the mushroom and compare it to other lookalike mushrooms including chicken of the woods (Laetiporus cincinnatus) and black staining polypore (Meripilus sumstenei )
