When I first heard Beretta was planning to release an updated version of the classic 80series Cheetah pistol, I was cautiously optimistic. I assumed they would add an accessory rail, which would undoubtedly spoil the clean lines and minimal bulk of the original design. And I was sure it would only be offered in .380 ACP, rather than the far more interesting (and fun) .32 ACP.
Turns out I was not wrong on either account. But once I got over that initial kneejerk reaction, I warmed up to some of the more promising new features of the Beretta 80X and decided I had to try one for myself.
