The oldest Austrian family business is situated in Innsbruck (Tyrol): Since 1599, bells and works of art made of bronze have been cast by the GRASSMAYR bell foundry.

But the Grassmayers are by no means dusty or oldfashioned. To compete against international rivals and cheap bell production companies, they are constantly on the lookout for the "Stradivarius among bells". Thus, they combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative technology: and so, the old family recipe for the bell material is used as well as heatresistant protective clothing from aerospace research.
