PS I'm on the Belfast Woodstock road and I'm here to film another excellent wee piece of street art, that I've managed to miss, so many times as I biked past.
This cassette tape, street art mural, is found on the side of, Duo Hair and Beauty Salon 356 Woodstock road, where it enters into Portallo street. I find this particular piece of street art remarkable, because it is unlike any street art mural, that I've ever come across.
7 actual Belfast rock cassette tape boxes are enlarged to appear like you are looking at someone's record collection sitting on a shelf. I think this is very clever and of course it is Belfast bands and singers of that era are celebrated and remembered.

This shelf of cassette tapes mural is by Blaze FX, and is part of the wave of new street art along the Cregagh and Woodstock road.

Van Morrison (who was with Them before going solo), Gary Moore, David Holmes, and members of Rudi and The Defects, grew up in east Belfast, as did Thin Lizzy’s guitarist Eric Bell. (Comment/Get in touch if you know of any SLF connection to east Belfast.)

The odd tape out here is the Cut La Roc/David Holmes ‘Stars X2’ live recording from Coventry’s ‘Eclipse’ nightclub, which is from 1999 (Old Skool Anthems) while the rest are from the sixties and seventies.

The “CregaghWoodstock Traders” (Fb) pencil (on the right) is presumably for respooling the tape after you pull it out and fix the tangle! lol

P S Van Morrison, Gary Moore, David Holmes and Eric Bell are all included in the Luminaries And Legends mural at Connswater.
