I give some tips on how to keep your plein air set up /easel steady in the wind and weather and the mistake I made which led to my easel biting the dust and tipping over.
Some other takeaways from this beautiful Colorado fall plein landscape adventure:

☑#1: Don't be afraid to use thick paint.
☑#2: Don't be afraid to use pure color right out of the tube without mixing it.
☑#3: Look for the color and temperature variations in the light objects, and the shadow objects that you are painting. Don't just use one color.
☑#4: Oh, and last..weigh down your easel in case it's windy, and ..tighten those knobs on the legs to the max and bring a small wrench for those cold days when it gets stuck!
