I don't hang the bird feeder at all times. The birds, like the bears, have plenty of natural food literally lying on the ground. In spite of what many people think I'm not in the bearfeeding business. If they score some birdseed once in a while, so be it. But I intend for them to forage for themselves and, more importantly, teach their cubs how it's done. Their health and survival depend on it.
