I try to be open and nonjudgemental about the bike choices people make — I just want to see more people on bikes, so whatever bike you choose is OK by me. But I have been harbouring a secret loathing of beach cruiser bikes for a long time, even though I've never actually ridden one before, and it's finally spilled over into a video testing a beach cruiser as a practical choice for urban transportation. Was my hatred justified?
