The cat is BarryRoubaix. We found him as a stray at the BarryRoubaix Michigan gravel bike race (MGRS) in 2022 and instantly took him home. Our veterinarian estimated that he is 1yearold. He was in very poor health: ear mites, respiratory infection, fleas; plus he had to be neutered. Adopted strays make the best pets, though. Barry approached us at the race and never left our tent. It was cold and we had a heater inside. My husband finished racing and found Barry cuddling with our 3yearold son on a foldup chair in the team tent (Team Consolidated of Flint MI). Instantly, my husband asked, Are we keeping him?" I said yes. He is great with kids. Barry is my 3yearold son's best friend and puts up with all of his crap. Barry is harness and leash trained, and that is why he comes to the beach with us (and everywhere else we go). He's something of a local legend. The bike scene loves him and his name.
