The Bank of Canada announces the interest rate. But do we really need anyone sitting in an ivory tower deciding what we should be paying, not just for interest on loans but for everything, including gas, hydro, groceries, and consumer goods? It's bordering on socialism to think that they control what we pay. We should determine what we pay, not them.
