Band Docking A Miniature Pinscher's Tail

Disclaimer: Miniature Pinschers were originally bred in Germany as work dogs. They are also popular among the Amish community as barn dogs. We actually bought our girl Penny from a German Amish family in Ohio and her mother was being used to tend to the barn. Please understand, tail docking is done to protect these pups from hurting themselves when chasing down rodents in areas where their tails can be snagged. With working dogs, in nearly all countries, it is still legal to dock a puppy's tails. With miniature pinschers, tail docking is preferred, whether the puppy is going to be an outside pup and watch over the yard/barn, or an inside dog and watch over your home. They playfully shoot full speed under couches and scoot in tight areas with ease. We understand that this is a sensitive subject for a lot of people, but both of our family pups had their tail's docked prior to us purchasing them and they are the happiest, funniest, loving pups we have ever owned. Sorry if that disappoints you guys and/or you believe tail docking has long term traumatic effects on puppies.  This is not our experience at all. And for us, with our child wanting to be a vet, we visit our local humane society frequently and notice that most of the pups that do NOT get adopted (in breeds that preferably have docked tails) do not have their tails docked.  Such a shame, they are not being adopted because they still have their tails. What people prefer with certain breeds, is what gives these little guys a homes when the owners pass, abandon, or can't take care of their pups for various reasons.  So please take that into consideration.

This video is for demonstration and educational purposes only. Please follow more detailed tutorials in banding your puppies or have your vet provide these services for you.
