It starts by taking a boat down Lake Chelan in Washington, to the Prince Creek Trail head. From there it was a 3 days and 17 miles hiking across the Lakeshore trail to the town of Stehekin. It was the hardest hike I have done in a long time. Not because the trail necessarily was technical, but because of the heat. It was 32c (89f) in full exposure to the elements. No breeze, no cloud cover and hardly any tree shade.
The whole trail was a grind, the only reprieve was gorgeous views of the lake and the "no shame shadow breaks" we took every 2030 minutes or so.
The team is stubborn and strong willed, together we pushed one another to end... even though I did cry.
Passed the heat exhaustion, blisters and sore feet, it was worth it. Not only for the internal sense of accomplishment but also for delicious baked goods from Stehekin Pastry Company. Nom Nom nom.
