Humans farm Pigs for meat but there are many people who like to keep Pigs as pets.
Although people often think of Pigs as being a dirty animal this is untrue. Pigs will not urinate or defecate near their food, or sleeping area. Even piglets will leave their nest to relieve themselves. They only use mud as a sunscreen and to protect them from biting insects.
This video shows how if they are lucky enough to be spared from the chop and given the freedom to play and live their lives on some none boring landscape, they will show they have a great memory, are intelligent and will respond by showing their wild but fun ways.
Although the Pigs themselves won't know it, they are hilarious to watch and listen to and animal trainers say they are as easy to train as a dog or a cat! Pigs can learn their names and as pets and they walk well on a leash and harness. They have a very good sense of smell and have been used to hunt truffles, a highly prized fungi.
In some places, including areas of the Highlands in Scotland, Sows and Boars have been released and have bred in the wild. It remains to be seen if they can fully repopulate an area.
I found these Pigs to be the most unexpected fun animals to watch and just the noises they make, as they truffle and snuffle about, grunting, squealing, snorting and blowing, are so funny to listen to.
When you add the various rocks, fence posts, stone walls and such that they use and remember where they are, to scratch various parts of their bodies and also they seemed to have a couple of circuits they preferred to run around and it shows how intelligent an animal they are.
