I have observed many Chapter 13 meetings of creditors over the past 25+ years and I regularly see cases where Chapter 13 debtors are not prepared for their hearings. This can be embarrassing and uncomfortable and can result in unnecessary trustee objections to confirmation.

As I discuss in this video, there are certain questions always asked by the Chapter 13 trustee at these 341 hearings. One series of questions will focus on your budget how much you are earning and how much you are spending each month.

The Chapter 13 trustee will assume that you have provided budget information to your lawyer. If the trustee asks you about monthly expenses listed on your bankruptcy schedules, you should be prepared to explain these line items. I recommend that you print out a copy of your bankruptcy budget, review it carefully before your hearing and have a copy in front of you when you testify.
