It's been a while since my last video, I just took a break from editing and starting a small business online.
Will open soon and of course, I will be posting news on my social media. It's autumn here and we crave some comfort food as per the request of my viewers to see Papa Gu in the kitchen we are making another hot pot dish that is so easy to make. This kind of meal is very healthy and heartwarming in cold weather. It is also called the Sumo Wrestlers Stew in Japan.
So what we are making today is called the Chige (Jjigae) Nabe a Korean Stew so its broth is kimchi base. This is just a version of Papa Gu where we bought the ingredients that he prefers to put in this hot pot. So it's very easy and no hassle of making the dumpling and the sauce cause it's all available in the supermarket.
Here are the Ingredients
2 Kimchi (Jjigae) soup 750g. He just used 1 1/2 of the broth
1/2 Chinese Cabbage
1 pack of pork sausage 350g ( Schau Essen)
200g Shimeji mushroom
450g of chicken dumplings
430g Satsumage a Japanese fish cake usually used in Oden ( a Japanese Fish Cake Stew)
180g Grilled Chikawa (tail fish)
400g Tofu (we used soft tofu)

This serves 5 to 6 people and perfect for family and friends get together dinner on a cold day or night.
When the broth starts to boil just add in first the Chinese cabbage, it will secrete water so you don't have to add water in your pot just follow the way Papa Gu did our hot pot. You can add any ingredient you want, but this is just a quick version of Papa Gus Chige Nabe. You can also see that ken is cooking some pork strips which I marinated for an hour with yakiniku sauce. This is just a perfect rice topping and is a good combination of the chige nabe.
