We show you the ATM cave in San Ignacio, Cayo District, Belize. National Geographic rated this number one its list of "Sacred Places of a Lifetime."

Natgeo has a great documentary on the site itself but there’s not a lot of footage on the cave itself as cameras have been banned from the cave since 2012. The Actun Tunichil Muknal cave is a place to explore and discover the ancient Maya culture and the tragic location of Mayan sacrifice. You will spend 45 hours spelunking, swimming, climbing, and sliding underground to reach numerous ancient artifacts and skeletons from the Mayan civilization. The “crystal maiden” is the most famous skeleton but recently the gender has been unconfirmed or questioned so its more like the “crystal person” for the time being. If you are in the Cayo district of Belize, don’t hesitate to book this thrilling and epic tour with plenty of Indiana Jones and culture mixed together.
