Brown Fork Gap tent site (mi. 153.1) to Fontana Dam (mi. 166.1).
Great day. Did about 12 miles by 1 o’clock then took the shuttle from Fontana marina into Fontana Village. Did some resupply, got our Smokies permit and chilled a bit. At 4 caught the shuttle back to the marina and chilled a couple of more hours there eating a few snacks and charging up all our electronic before entering the Smokies. Hiked a mile and a half or so to Fontana Dam and saw the famous Fontana Hilton shelter. Got a great tent site for the night, and met a couple, Tim and Jan, who were handing out bananas to THs. Shooting for 15 miles tomorrow, we’ll see how it goes.
Today’s menu: package of chocolate donuts, Gatorade bar, 2 cans of mt dew, 1 bottle of ginger ale, an iced honey bun, a snickers, a Kit Kat, and a banana, and water of course.
