This 3D Binaural river recording was made with specialist microphones placed close to the water at the centre of the Dargle River at Powerscourt in the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland. Listening with good quality headphones will enable you to hear the sound around your head as if you were there. This type of recording is often referred to as ASMR, and is achieved by placing high quality microphones inside the ears of a human head (Binaural Head). Due to the shape of the head, sound reaches the ears at different times, and enables our brain to determine where sounds are coming from in any direction.
