Stanford is preparing for Family Weekend! That's when we welcome family, guardians, parents to campus (well, in nonpandemic years) to enjoy campus and learn more about supports for their college student. College mental health is a very important topic! Those between ages 1525 are most at risk for mental health concerns.

Many of our Asian and Asian American students lament that their parents do not understand why mental health is an important topic. Asian communities often suffer terrible ignorance and stigma about conditions such as anxiety and depression. Stigma and silence only prevents students from seeking proper and timely support and healthcare. Here's my start at answering some FAQ's about mental health in young adults.
