Clash between generations is always interesting to watch. At the 9th round of the Satty Zhuldyz Rapid 2023 currently taking place in Kazakhstan, we saw the battle between Arjun Erigaisi and the man who vanquished Kasparov the one and only Vladimir Kramnik. The former World Champion has retired from competitive chess, but every now and then plays tournaments and does it quite successfully. It was going to be an exciting clash. Arjun opened with 1.d4, Kramnik played the Slav Defence and then came the exchange Slav. Watch this battle with commentary by IM Sagar Shah.
