Hundreds of years ago, wild wolves could be found in the UK but they became extinct in 1743. In this video, Vicky Allison, Education Officer for a Wolf Conservation Trust, describes the reasons for this extinction. In some parts of the world, reintroducing the wolf back into the wild has had a positive, balancing effect on the ecosystem, and in this video, Vicky considers how feasible that would be for the UK.
