On 16 December 1944, the Germans launched the Ardennes Offensive. That same day, a battle ended to secure the German attack's northern flank the forgotten battle of Kesternich. Without a German victory at Kesternich, the entire Ardennes operation would have been imperilled. This is the story of that forgotten USGerman clash.
