I know I do a horrible job at explaining my system so I will try it again down here:

~ For my personal finances ~
I have two income streams. My normal salary from my fulltime job and money I earn with YouTube. The money I earn with youtube goes straight into a seperate savings account. I only use that money to invest back into youtube. So I use my salary to pay everything. I use the pay yourself first method. I put the same amount into my savings acount every month the moment I get my paycheck (once a month, at the 25thish). How much this is I determent by making a budget. I did this in excel. It depends on your income, how much you want to save and how expensive you want to live. Then a set amount goes to our shared acount (spread nr 2). The money left over is enough for me to pay all my personal bills, do some fun things, spend a bit and even have a little bit leftover by the end of the month. The money leftover by the end of the month goes into a fun savings acount and I can spend that on whetever I want without feeling any guilt (I have an issue with buying things for myself that is why I introduces this account) So some months this is a lot, some months I barely have enough but it really motivates me to spend less. Because I can save up for fun things! So can you keep up haha. So 3 savings accounts:
business (YouTube money)
Normal (for boring things like emergency fund and home investments)
For me (the fun account to spend on anything the I want!)

~ For our shared finances ~
I use the envelop system and then symplified as how Jordan Page explains it:    • Simplest budgeting method EVER! | Env...   The only difference is I don't use invelops and cash money. I just use the same rules and way of writing it down. All my money goed through my bankaccount. So we have a budget for every week for groceries and other things here, because those are the variable spending we do. All our bills are pretty much the same every month, so I just wrote them out and tip them off when they are payed.
